Main Purpose of the Role:
With support from senior management, the Internal Sales Executive will build the client base by procuring new clients through cold/warm calling, attending events, networking and online media. To build and maintain a working relationship, offer services and identify opportunities for the client to improve existing supply chain processes. The successful candidate will be ambitious, willing to learn and integrate with the client to obtain an in-depth knowledge of their unique processes and requirements working to apply them into quotes and bookings for the freight forwarding operation team.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Internal Sales Executive:
* Search for and acquire new clients by phone/email/online media/meetings/attending events.
* Quote clients and follow up in timely periods to secure bookings & feedback.
* Handover bookings to the operations team.
* Maintain sales records for reporting and follow up.
* Provide detailed client reports when bookings are made and offer SOP.
* Identify ways to help improve the clients’ existing supply chain.
* Negotiate rates with agents, shipping lines, truckers + other suppliers to the company.
* Work to set targets.
* Organise, update and maintain rate tables.
* Prepare monthly reports to detail sales activity.
* Implement and maintain company CRM system.
* Increase company digital + online presence by using company social media.
To be Considered:
* Proven freight forwarding industry‑specific sales experience, ideally selling directly to importers.
* Proven inside and outside sales background, with a strong track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
* Resilient and confident communicator, able to work effectively under pressure while maintaining a positive, proactive approach.
* Excellent telephone manner, with the ability to build rapport quickly, promote both themselves and the company, and deliver outstanding customer service.
* Strong organisational and administrative skills, with solid working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and other standard office software
