Job overview
We are looking to recruit a band 7 Clinical Physiologist or Clinical Scientist in Neurophysiology for 12 months maternity cover. This is an exciting opportunity for band 6 physiologists looking to progress their career and develop leadership skills in Neurophysiology. The maternity cover replaces our lead for sleep but the area of responsibility can be adjusted to meet the successful candidate's strengths.
Main duties of the job The role will include independent outpatient clinics in EEG (all modalities) and NCS for carpal tunnel screening and ulnar neuropathy screening. Additionally, there are weekly peripheral neuropathy screening clinics supported by the Consultant Neurophysiologist.
Neurophysiology at SWB is across 2 sites now that the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital has opened. Inpatient investigations are performed in the department and on the wards, including wards at other acute Trusts in the region. Full-time physiologists are rostered for inpatient clinics 1-2 days a week.

Leading an area of service (e.g., Sleep or EEG)
Supervising trainee physiologists
Person specification Qualifications BSc in Clinical Physiology or BSc in Healthcare Science (Neurophysiology)
MSc Neurosensory Sciences
ANS Part 1/A
ANS Part 2/B
Experience Relevant postgraduate experience across EEG and Peripheral neurophysiology modalities
Experience with adults of all ages in dedicated and non-dedicated environments
Experience at band 7 role leading in an area of Neurophysiology
Experience with paediatrics of all ages in dedicated and non-dedicated environments
Experience in PSG and MSLT
Experience in Evoked potentials
Knowledge High level of knowledge of neurological conditions investigated in Neurophysiology
Knowledge of sleep studies
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
