We are seeking an enthusiastic applicant for a full-time Locum Consultant post (10PAs) in Integrated Sexual Health commencing in July 2025 to work alongside a dynamic team of sexual health professionals working at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust.
This post is to work in North Kent at the Riverside Clinic, Gravesham Community Hospital, and Overy Street clinic, Dartford. We are looking for someone who can lead the Clinical Governance for our service and develop high-quality clinical outcomes for our diverse local population.
The successful applicant will be expected to work 10 PAs of Direct Clinical Care DCC (8DCC and 2 SPA) with each PA being a 4-hour session. Consultations are 30-45 minutes depending on the type of clinic undertaken. Thirty minutes of DCC admin time is included within each session to allow for patient-related admin and to provide clinical support of the nursing staff who run clinics alongside the Consultants.
The successful applicant will be expected to attend and contribute to relevant clinical and management meetings, including a monthly team meeting, Clinical Ops meeting, and Directorate meeting, and any additional clinical meetings that require their presence. Time is allocated within the job plan for these and can be adjusted as responsibility changes.

Responsibilities
* Contribute to our sexual health strategy in line with the National Strategies and Kent Public Health priorities, including meeting our accessibility targets, population health targets, and reducing unplanned pregnancy through availability of LARC contraception.
* Manage a case load of GUM and HIV patients and support nurse-led clinics.
* Provide safeguarding of young people and vulnerable adults attending the service.
* Assume responsibility, both personally and corporately with consultant colleagues, for the management of junior medical staff, including their professional development, both clinical and personal.
