Accounts Manager
Location: Hull

Kingston Recruitment are working with a well-established, privately owned business in Hull who are seeking an experienced Accounts Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of their accounts function and support the Financial Controller.
This is a hands-on, varied role suited to a highly experienced accounts professional who is confident working independently and supervising a small team.
The Role
The Accounts Manager will take responsibility for the smooth running of the accounts department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, reconciliations and payroll processes, whilst supporting wider business administration.
Key responsibilities include:

Overseeing purchase ledger and statement reconciliations (with support from a full-time team member)
*
Managing month-end reconciliations and closing of:
*
Sales ledger
*
Purchase ledger
*
Bank accounts
*
Weekly wages processing (Sage)
*
Daily online banking
*
Producing daily sales ledger reports
*
Running fixed asset depreciation schedules (spreadsheet-based)
*
Assisting with annual budget preparation
*
Supervising and checking the work of the Purchase Ledger / Reception team member
*
Supporting and deputising for the Financial Controller
Additional administrative oversight responsibilities include:

Managing motor vehicle records (insurance, MOT, tax, breakdown cover – approx. 25 vehicles)
*
Monitoring holiday logs for circa 80 employees
*
Ensuring smooth operation of the clocking-in system
*
Ordering office consumables (stationery, refreshments etc.)
About You
*
Ideally AAT qualified (Accounts qualification preferred rather than bookkeeping level – not essential)
*
Minimum 10 years’ experience in a similar accounts role
*
Experience working within a busy commercial environment
*
Experience using invoice financing (desirable)
*
Strong working knowledge of Sage payroll
*
Excellent Excel and Word skills (essential)
*
Confident working with spreadsheet-based reporting
*
Organised, detail-oriented and comfortable supervising others
Experience of working with in-house accounting systems (training provided on Global) would be advantageous.
