As a high calibre clinician/scientist with a significant research profile of well-established national standing in dementia, evidenced by leading (4-star) publications in peer reviewed journals and evidence of the ability to secure independent research funding, you will be expected to be a significant research income generator, contribute world-leading outputs and/or impact case studies to the Research Excellence Framework return, and supervise a team of clinical and non-clinical postgraduate and undergraduate researchers. Applicants should be fully accredited medical practitioners with GMC registration and a licence to practice. You must have completed higher specialist training in Old Age Psychiatry and either be on, or eligible for inclusion on, the Specialist Register for Old Age Psychiatry within six months of the interview date. MRCPsych or equivalent is required, together with Approved AC status - Mental Health Act Section 12 (2) & an MD or PhD. You will join a multi-disciplinary team of scientists and clinicians in the College of Life Sciences to lead and develop a programme of high-quality research directed at developing new personalised approaches to dementia treatment and management. This Associate Professor Role will be employed by Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (NHFT) and will support the greater collaboration and joint working of research and innovation across NHFT and Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust. The two organisations established a group operating structure in 2021 adding to this partnership associate university status in 2023. This role will help us develop our partnerships and increase our research presence further. The appointee will be awarded an Honorary Consultant contract by Northamptonshire Health Care Foundation Trust and will deliver a joint clinical and academic job plan with 50% time being clinical and 50% being academic delivery.
