Head of Religious Studies
Merstham Park School is seeking an inspiring Head of Religious Studies to join our growing secondary school. The role is within the Humanities Faculty, which includes Geography, History, Religious Studies and PSHE. The successful candidate will deliver high quality lessons, provide curriculum leadership, and support the school’s commitment to a culturally rich and inclusive learning environment.
We are looking for a dynamic and highly-skilled practitioner, capable of leading the RS curriculum creatively and strategically across Key Stages. The role requires a confident understanding of the curriculum, clear communication, and an ability to work collaboratively with specialists and non-specialists alike.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and further develop the Religious Studies curriculum, creatively and strategically planning a spiral curriculum across Key Stages.
* Plan high quality lessons and resources that can be taught by both specialists and non-specialists.
* Serve as an effective leader with high standards of communication and interpersonal skills.
* Be an excellent classroom practitioner.
* Show passion for students' learning and welfare.

Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent (Part‑time working may be considered for the right applicant if the needs of the school can be met.)
Pay Scale: GLF MPR/UPR + TLR 2:1 (£3,527)
