Salary range: Soulbury AEP scale point 2 5, £36,109 to £40,325

About the Role
We currently have an exciting vacancy for an Assistant Educational Psychologist to work closely with Trafford’s Early Years Service and Family Hubs. As part of the Government’s Change Partnership Programme (CPP), Trafford is testing reforms for SEN and Inclusion with a focus on speech, language and communication development and social and emotional wellbeing. Trafford is implementing programmes linked to the Best Start in Life strategy and developing its Family Hub offer.
As an Assistant Educational Psychologist, you would be responsible for:
* Supporting the Senior Educational Psychologist with responsibility for Early Years.
* Accessing supervision as determined by The Association of Educational Psychologists.
* Attending meetings, taking minutes and following up on actions.
* Supporting administrative tasks including maintaining records and communications with settings.
* Visiting schools and early education settings as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support action planning.
* Supporting the delivery of workforce development and training for teachers and support staff in the EYFS.
* Supporting project evaluation.
* Supporting the design, delivery and data analysis of surveys.
* Collaborating with Trafford’s Family Hubs and supporting implementation of Best Start in Life strategy.
* Supporting projects aimed at improving home learning environments (HLE) for early years.
About you
* You will have a first degree in Psychology (2:1 or 1st) or equivalent (e.g. Masters in Educational Psychology).
* You will be eligible and wish to apply for the Applied Doctorate in Child and Educational Psychology.
* You will have a passion for early years and be committed to promoting the government’s Best Start in Life strategy.
* You will demonstrate a strong commitment to continuing professional development and taking responsibility for new learning.
* You will hold strong values around promoting children’s inclusion and working relationally with colleagues and clients.
* You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* You will be able to work independently and as part of a team.
* You will be able to establish and maintain positive professional relationships in multidisciplinary contexts.
* You will have experience applying knowledge of child development and psychology in practice.
* You will have previous experience of working in or with educational settings.
* You will have excellent ICT skills and ability to use software such as PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft Teams, etc.
