Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic, and service-oriented Pharmacy Technician to work within our friendly Pharmacy Team in a large and progressive GP practice serving 39,000 patients.
Using your clinical and technical knowledge of medicines management processes, you will help resolve medication-related queries, work as part of a multidisciplinary team, improve patient outcomes, and support the improvement of access to healthcare. You will assist with medication safety monitoring systems and audits, process discharge/clinic letters from secondary care, conduct medicines reconciliation and optimisation activities, and support the practice in delivering high-quality clinical pharmacy services.
Main duties of the job
* Deliver clinical pharmacy services including processing discharge/clinic letters from secondary care.
* Perform medicines improvement work to maximise safe, cost-effective prescribing under the supervision of clinical pharmacists.
* Assist with medication safety monitoring systems (e.g., high-risk drugs).
* Liaise with clinicians and administrative staff to resolve medicine-related queries.
* Monitor practice prescribing and adherence to PCN policies, including local and national guidelines.
* Improve service quality through audits.
* Support clinical pharmacists in Structured Medication Reviews.
* Maintain a good understanding of Pharmacy Technician working standards.
* Bring prior experience as a Practice Pharmacy Technician focused on delivering excellent clinical care.
