The Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA) is excited to offer a competitive opportunity to serve as an Accounting and Data Associate with the Finance Division.
At the Virginia IT Agency (VITA), we believe in developing talent and helping to create the leaders of tomorrow. Our Associate Program is designed to provide entry level professionals with project and operational-based experiences in various VITA business and IT roles. As a VITA Associate, you will receive a blended learning curriculum and one-on-one mentoring in a dynamic work environment.
The Accounting and Data Associate provides analytical, reporting, and operational support across all accounting functions within VITA. The position serves as a rotational support resource for the accounting team.
This developmental position is designed for a recent college graduate with a strong academic background in accounting and data analysis.
The role supports the accuracy, transparency, and efficiency of VITA’s financial operations, including general ledger accounting, reconciliations, financial reporting, audit support, and data-driven process improvement.

Minimum Qualifications
Entry level experience in financial and managerial accounting.
Experience in meeting deadlines.
Entry level experience in performing financial modeling and analysis.
Experience with interpretation and application of federal and state laws/regulations.
Entry level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, basic data analysis).
Experience working with internal/external stakeholders.
Additional Considerations
Internship or practicum experience in accounting or finance.
Exposure to ERP systems (Workday, Oracle, PeopleSoft).
Familiarity with GAAP and/or GASB.
