Business Support Officer - Minute Taker
Company: Opus People Solutions are recruiting on behalf of our Client, Walsall Council.
Location: Hybrid after 1-2 weeks shadowing training; based at Children's Centre, South & Central Locality Team, Birchills. Meetings are face-to-face at Birchills, after which transcription can be undertaken at home.
Hourly Rate: £15.58 per hour, with potential pay increases annually.
Working Schedule: Monday - Thursday 8:45 am with 1-hour unpaid break; Fridays 8:45 am - 4:45 pm with 1-hour unpaid break. 37 hours per week.
Length of Assignment: Temporary, ongoing for 3 months or more.
About the Role:
Opus People Solutions, representing Walsall Council, is seeking a proactive Business Support Officer - Minute Taker to join the Children's Services Team on a temporary basis. This role involves recording and reporting minutes from meetings with Walsall Children's Services and vulnerable children and young people, which are crucial for legal proceedings.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Transcribe meeting minutes accurately, ensuring they are clear and child-friendly.
2. Monitor the general email inbox for correspondence.
3. Meet a 72-hour deadline for processing and submitting minutes.
4. Type all minutes and transfer them onto official documents and the Mosaic system.
5. Ensure timely submission of minutes to relevant parties including the local authority, professionals, and parents/carers.
6. Record minutes with accuracy, including factual and critical information.
7. Act as the first point of contact for phone calls and inquiries.
8. Organise and manage documents and appointments efficiently.
9. Support the Business Support team with administrative tasks as needed.
Essential Experience:
* Experience in a fast-paced office environment.
* Proven experience in typing minutes during meetings.
* Touch typing skills.
* Experience in note-taking and minute transcription.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Good time management and organisational skills.
