With approximately 7,000 km of highways and a comprehensive public footway network, Lancashire County Council oversees and maintains numerous bridges, retaining walls, and other highway structures. Our significant investment in infrastructure creates a high demand for our services.
Join us as a Lead Engineer (Bridges) to manage the design, assessment, and construction of highway structures across Lancashire.
You will:
* Manage and coordinate a team of dedicated engineers
* Develop, oversee and monitor the works programme to ensure activity is sufficiently resources and a robust plan is in plan to deliver on time and within budget. You’ll collaborate with our operational teams to ensure we are delivering an efficient service.
* Provide technical expertise and advice to internal and external stakeholders
Our ideal applicant will have:
* A good working knowledge of current standards relating to the design, assessment, and construction of highway structures. You’ll bring a wealth of technical knowledge developed through your degree in civil engineering or a related subject.
* Experience of managing a team in delivering projects to budget and programme
* Excellent communication skills and take a customer focused approach to service delivery
You will be required to provide a car for use in connection with the duties of this post and must be insured for business use. However, we may consider you if you cannot drive because of a disability
