We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Company Secretary to support the Santander UK plc and Santander UK Group Holdings PLC Boards and Board Committees, helping them function efficiently and effectively.
As an Assistant Company Secretary within the Board & Executive Governance unit, you’ll interact daily with Directors and Senior Management, requiring excellent communication and organizational skills. Your responsibilities include supporting Boards and Committees, ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance, and participating in project work.
The difference you’ll make:
* Supporting the Deputy Company Secretary in managing the board meeting cycle and providing governance advisory support to the Board and Committees, ensuring effective coordination with Committee Secretaries.
* Drafting meeting agendas, liaising with stakeholders, managing the distribution of materials, and preparing minutes and chair’s scripts.
* Overseeing activities of a Company Secretariat Assistant, maintaining calendars, meeting action schedules, and supporting agenda setting.
* Maintaining statutory documentation and preparing regulatory and governance reports for internal and external purposes.
* Contributing to the Corporate Governance Office’s work to provide effective support, especially when priorities shift.
* Engaging in specific projects to ensure the office provides high-quality service.
What you’ll bring:
* Significant experience as a company secretary, particularly in listed or financial services, with strong minute-taking skills.
* Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage competing priorities, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
It would also be nice if you have:
* Chartered Secretary (ACIS), legal or relevant professional qualification.
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience dealing with senior stakeholders.
* Flexible approach and adaptability to changing workloads and responsibilities.
* A positive attitude, sense of humor, and team-oriented mindset.
