This is a 39 week sessional post working hours will be during school term time plus in-service days. The salary advertised is full time (35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year). Sessional posts will be pro-rated accordingly.
Days and Hours of Work:
Monday - Friday, 09:00-17:00
Starting and finishing times are flexible.
To start 10th August 2026.
The purpose of the Equity & Inclusion Education Outreach Service is to provide bespoke support to identified learners to improve their school attendance, engagement, attainment, and achievement. The Equity & Inclusion Outreach Service works with learners on a short-term basis to support them to take full advantage of opportunities in school. The Education Outreach Officers will also work in partnership with families to promote positive home-school links and will be assigned on a needs basis rather than geographical and will be expected to work across East Lothian.
In line with GIRFEC principles, the Education Outreach Officers will work closely with school colleagues, including learners’ Named Education Contacts (NEC) and other agencies as part of the ‘team around the child’ to provide early and effective support to ensure that all learners meet their full potential. The service will be led by a Depute Head Teacher for Equity & Inclusion.
Interviews for the posts will take place all day on 18 May and on the afternoon of 19 May.
