AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We keep the cloud running by supporting data centers and all servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure continual access for customers. We are looking for a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team. This role is a hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and operation responder. If you enjoy applying electrical and mechanical skills to solve problems, we’d like to meet you. Your work will help maintain one of the world\'s largest information system infrastructures.
Key job responsibilities
* SAFETY: Follow and maintain the highest safety standards; foster a world-class safety culture. As a facility owner team, ensure remediation of safety risks/issues with other teams. Own safety initiatives and projects to strengthen safety culture.
* ENGINEERING & FACILITY OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE: Operational experience with electrical and mechanical equipment, including UPSs, switchgear, circuit breakers, ATSs, diesel generators, chillers, HVAC, exhaust fans, VFDs, and transformers. Troubleshoot events within internal SLAs. Take daily operational readings of mechanical and electrical equipment (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.). Supervise contractors performing servicing or preventive maintenance. Manual handling and lifting of equipment may be required (weight limits per health & safety regulations). Ability to work shifts.

Basic Qualifications
- Knowledge of safe electrical practices per guidelines from relevant electrical safety bodies (e.g., ECSSAI and RECI in Ireland)
- Professional Electrical or Mechanical Certification (National Craft Certificate, Registered Electrical Contractor, or equivalent) or a level 6 engineering qualification
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of key electrical competencies and theory
- Experience with Microsoft Office products
- Knowledge of BMS and EPMS control systems and data collection/trending
