The Role:
A respected civil engineering contractor with a strong track record in delivering water infrastructure projects is seeking a Health and Safety Advisor to join their team on a permanent basis.
The role will support multiple live projects across the Chester to North Wales corridor. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in water sector projects and a strong understanding of the unique risks and regulatory requirements in this environment.
Due to the geographic spread of the sites, living close to the M6 corridor would be advantageous to support regular travel to project locations.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide professional Health & Safety support across active civil engineering/water infrastructure projects
Carry out site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation
Promote a strong HSE culture across site teams and subcontractors
Assist in the development and review of RAMS and site safety documentation
Investigate incidents and provide recommendations for improvement
Report regularly to HSEQ management on performance, findings, and improvements
Requirements:
Minimum of 7 years' experience in a Health & Safety role within the water sector
NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (or higher)
Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations and current HSE legislation
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Willingness to travel regularly across the Chester-North Wales region
Full UK driving licence
Location near the M6 corridor is preferred due to travel requirements
