Vision for Education are recruiting enthusiastic and motivated individuals to work as Learning Support Assistants across a variety of SEN schools in South Bristol.
This opportunity is perfect for those with no prior school experience who are looking to start a rewarding career in education. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will learn on the job while supporting children with additional needs in welcoming and supportive school environments.
As a Learning Support Assistant, your responsibilities may include:
1. Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
2. Helping children with SEND access learning and classroom activities
3. Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional development
4. Assisting teachers with classroom preparation and daily routines
5. Supporting children with needs such as autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and moderate learning needs
6. Acting as a positive, consistent role model throughout the school day
Every day will give you valuable, hands-on experience and the chance to build confidence in a real school setting.
Training and Development
No school experience? That’s absolutely fine. We provide full support to help you succeed.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will receive:
7. Funded online training tailored to SEN support roles
8. Courses in safeguarding, SEND awareness, and behaviour management
9. Ongoing CPD to build your skills and confidence
10. Paid placements in a range of SEN schools to develop practical experience
You’ll be supported every step of the way as you grow into the role.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for individuals who:
11. Have a genuine interest in working with children or young people
12. Are patient, adaptable, and eager to learn
13. Want to gain experience in SEN schools
14. Are reliable and professional
15. Hold (or are willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
Experience in care, customer service, sports coaching, nursery work, youth work, or support roles is beneficial but not essential.
