We are excited to announce a rare and unique opportunity for an experienced Controls Engineer to join our team is the cost estimation of controls-related activities on the projects. This highly unique position utilizes your experience as an engineer to provide precise costings for our automated material handling solutions.
In this role, you will be working in tandem with our Engineering Team and suppliers to deliver accurate costings for controls engineering activities (parts, labour, and hours) whilst also carrying out site surveys to ensure our sales and engineering departments are aligned.
This includes assessing software development, hardware design, documentation, and site works such as installation and commissioning. We are seeking an experienced controls engineer who can leverage their expertise to evaluate the controls aspect of projects and generate comprehensive cost estimates for various controls-related activities within the projects.

Tasks and Qualifications:
Key Responsibilities:
5. Plan project approaches and define technical scopes to meet customer and safety requirements.
6. Understand the constraints of working on live sites, providing solutions that minimize disruptions to client operations within the project scope.
7. Engage in regular dialogue with Engineering and Sales teams, occasionally interacting with customers.
8. Provide provisional project schedules for use by the Sales Team in their offers to customers.
9. Conduct site visits to inspect/audit relevant areas.
10. Attend Technical Reviews for projects.
11. Assist in developing and maintaining departmental procedures and standards, fostering a continuous improvement culture.
Qualifications & Experience:
12. HNC or HND, or equivalent qualification, in electrical engineering or a related field.
13. Proven experience as a Controls Engineer within an automated material handling environment or similar industries (e.g., manufacturing or production).
14. Experience in estimating costs for projects is useful but not essential.
15. Working knowledge of Siemens Step 7 would be advantageous, but we also welcome candidates with programming experience on other PLC platforms.
16. Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with multi-disciplined teams.
