The Opportunity Amentum is the Design and Engineering partner for Sellafield under the PPP (Programme and Project Partners). This is a 20-year arrangement to deliver ~£7bn of major projects. We are looking to recruit high value expertise from across regulated and comparable sectors to work in a collaborative environment. PPP is delivering major projects, site wide improvements and provision of supporting services. As a result of this increasing demand for our services we are looking for a CS&A Designer to join our team on the Lightly Shielded Store 1 (LSS1) Project. The Project The Lightly Shielded Store 1 (LSS1) project will deliver additional storage for Intermediate Level Waste (ILW) it will be a new class of store for the lower end of ILW in terms of fissile mass, described as Contact Handleable ILW. LSS1 will be a new build store, approximately 7200m2 footprint. It is currently preparing for Outline Business Case gate and commencing Preliminary Design. The Role LSS1 now has an exciting opportunity to recruit a CS&A Designer to join the team in Birchwood, Warrington. As a CS&A Designer your responsibilities will include: * Delivery of complete design concepts from basic scheme definition * Production of plans, sections, details & design documents using the appropriate software * Checking of drawings, technical specifications, schedules, reports & method statements * Co-ordinate & supervise structural assessments & surveys (condition/measurement etc) * Collaborative multi-discipline design & client / stakeholder liaison * Responsible for ensuring drawings conform to the appropriate standards and procedures * Attend technical meetings to present and defend technical issues * Basic understanding of design calculations to develop GA’s, sections, details and specifications to ‘For Construction’ level output As a CS&A Designer you will already have * Experience of working on projects delivering civil/structural design solutions, both greenfield and brownfield. * Appropriate qualifications in Civil/Structural Engineering e.g. BSC, HND, HNC. * Understanding of Construction Design and Management Regulations (CDM) * Experience with CAD packages, REVIT, Navisworks About Amentum We’ll inspire and empower you to deliver your best work so you can evolve, grow and succeed today and into tomorrow.
