Your new team

This position sits in our Chivas Brothers business. At Chivas Brothers, our 1,600-strong team across 27 sites is committed to upholding the heritage of Scotch and ensuring its sustainable future, as well as opening it up to new audiences across the globe.

The scope of Operations stretches from Procurement through conversion (distillation and maturation) and manufacturing (or bottling) to all the downstream Supply Chain activities until the final product is delivered. In addition, Operations play a very active role in Innovation, Talent Development and Operational Risk Management.

The Bottling teams are based across three factories at our Kilmalid Campus in Dumbarton. The site produces over 20 million cases of flagship brands every year such as Beefeater, Glen Livet, Chivas and Ballantine’s, the focus on quality is paramount. In addition to Quality Focus, we put Safety First above anything else whilst we deliver our customer’s expectations and business targets in efficiency and cost. Your unique contribution

In the Multi-Skilled Technician role, you will be responsible for the implementation of maintenance activity determined by maintenance plans, problem solving, and Continuous Improvement activity related to Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) improvement and machine efficiency.

You will have four main areas of responsibility:

* Supporting Operations – to provide effective first line response to Bottling operations requirements and to carry out line changeovers to agreed standards and procedures. As part of a manufacturing team, you will provide effective and timely line cover, minimising setup and breakdown losses during production time.
* Maintenance – to maintain and improve line performance in relation to agreed targets and ensure planned preventative maintenance is completed as scheduled.
* Continuous Improvement – to participate in operations and engineering improvement initiatives and to initiate, implement and follow up of minor projects in a continuous improvement environment.
* Collaboration – to coach and develop Apprentice MSTs and Equipment and to ensure information flow during shift changeovers.

Who you’ll be working with

Internally, you will collaborate with the Manufacturing teams within the bottling hall. You will also collaborate with other teams across the organisation e.g., Engineering, Quality, New Product Development & Continuous Improvement.

Externally, you will work with various OEMs, contractors and continuous improvement consultants.

Your blend of talent

This position could be right for you if you:

* Have a recognised trade qualification, can be primarily Mechanical or Electrical but must have skills in both disciplines.
* Previous experience in a manufacturing environment ideally on packaging equipment or warehousing.
* Have knowledge of PLC, variable speed control and servo drive.
* Can demonstrate effective Root Cause Analysis and Continuous Improvement skills.
* Can develop new skills and has the willingness to train others.
* Are computer literate and able to operate business process computerised systems.
