Our client, a prominent entity in the marine sector, is currently seeking Senior and Principal Naval Architects to join their expanding team. This is a permanent opportunity for dedicated professionals to work on a variety of exciting projects within the marine industry, including crew transfer vessels, service operation vessels, ferries, patrol boats, workboats, and landing craft. The role involves overseeing the entire vessel design and construction process, from concept to build.
Key Responsibilities:
* Leading multi-disciplinary teams in hull form development and lightship weight analysis.
* Determining propulsion systems to meet operational requirements using model test data and CFD methods.
* Creating 3D renderings to support tender submissions.
* Conducting seakeeping assessments through model testing and analytical methods.
* Carrying out stability assessments and developing structural arrangements.
* Interfacing with clients on technical design requirements and leading sector-specific work.
* Collaborating with sales, programme, and engineering teams to ensure quality and timely delivery.
* Engaging in professional development in technical and soft skills.
Job Requirements:
* Bachelors or Masters degree in Naval Architecture.
* Significant experience in the marine industry, suitable for senior roles.
* Strong background in naval architecture principles and practical design application.
* Knowledge of relevant codes, Classification Society rules, and vessel construction standards.
* Proficiency in hull design, stability, weight calculation, and performance prediction.
* Experience with vessels such as crew transfer vessels, service operation vessels, ferries, patrol boats, and workboats.
* Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD (AutoCAD) and familiarity with Maxsurf or similar software.
* Commercial awareness and ability to produce professional drawings and plans.
* Project management experience and team supervision skills.
* Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills for client communication.
