RTS Sub Assembly Technician at MoneyGram Haas F1 Team
General Summary
Reports to the RTS Chief Mechanic or their designee; located in Banbury, UK. Responsible for the assembly and servicing of the Haas Formula 1 race car components.
Key Responsibilities
* Promote teamwork and effective communications across all personnel and departments.
* Maintain cleanliness and condition of your work area.
* Follow engineering procedures and protocols for assembly, operation, and safety as dictated by the team.
* Ensure all sub‑assembled components are built to the highest standards and correct specifications.
* Maintain and service all pit stop equipment and off‑car equipment such as rigs, including setup of equipment and tooling.
* Build and service the team's race chassis and heritage chassis in line with chief mechanic expectations.
* Assist departments to facilitate turnarounds, engineering projects, car builds, and event support.
* Report reliability issues promptly and seek advice before undertaking out‑of‑ordinary tasks.
* Follow all safety regulations in all venues.
* Assume any responsibilities delegated by the RTS Chief Mechanic or their designee.
Education And Work Experience
* Preferably 2 years of experience in a similar mechanical role within Formula 1, World Sports Cars, or F2.
* Demonstrated professionalism and a strong service record within motorsport industry is advantageous.
* GCSE, High School Diploma, or equivalent required.
* Further education (Trade School, Apprenticeship, University Degree) desired.
Specialized Knowledge And Skills
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Comprehensive mechanical understanding from Formula 1 motor racing.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and assembly information.
* Consistent attention to detail while working to highest standards.
* Basic fabrication and machining skills.
* Positive attitude, willingness to help others, and teamwork.
* Adaptability, time management, conflict resolution, and self‑motivation.
Equipment And Applications
* Solid computer knowledge; experience with Microsoft Office, Microsoft 365, and 3DX preferred.
* Mechanical aptitude.
* Ability to follow complex regulations related to shipment of materials and facility maintenance.
Work Environment Physical Demands
Work in a high‑pressure, time‑sensitive environment with methodical approach required. May require domestic and international travel, long and flexible hours including weekends. Lifting up to 50 pounds, repeated bending, squatting, and manual dexterity. Work involves machinery, race cars, rigs, grinding debris, and hazardous fluids. Compliance with the Company Health and Safety Policy and applicable legislation required.
