Main duties of the job
* To assist the registered practitioner in providing high quality compassionate care and assistance to patients/relatives and their carers, appropriate to their needs.
* Responsible for carrying out tasks as delegated by the registered practitioner, who has overall accountability for delegating care.
* To provide pastoral support to new starters to the ward in a kind and compassionate manner.
* To use own initiative within the level of competence to complete day to day activities for the role.

Skills and Attributes
Essential
* Ability to communicate health related information in an understandable way to patients and colleagues, adapting communication style to meet the needs of the recipient
* Understanding of confidentiality requirements in a healthcare setting
Qualifications & Education
Essential
* Successful completion of the care certificate
Desirable
* Level 2 Maths and English (GCSE A-C or equivalent) or Functional Skills Level 2
* Level 3 qualification or equivalent (UK equivalent) (Health and Social Care qualification preferred) or working towards
Knowledge & Experience
Essential
* 3 Years previous health care assistant experience.
