The Head of Procurement UK & Ireland is a proactive, self-driven leader responsible for managing procurement activities in both COGs and indirect areas within the UK and Ireland. This role acts as the local face of Procurement, ensuring effective communication, process efficiency, and strong partnership with business units.
Main responsibilities:
* Strategic Business Partnership: Serve as the primary contact for UK/IE leadership, aligning local strategies with global initiatives and maintaining strong management relationships.
* Value Creation & Cost Management: Drive local vendor initiatives, support global cost reduction efforts, and ensure procurement aligns with budgets.
* Supplier Relationship Management: Participate in SRM programs, validate supplier segmentation, foster local supplier relationships, and source innovative vendors for broader use.
* Compliance & Risk Management: Implement procurement policies, ensure local compliance, support audits, and maintain business continuity plans.
* Knowledge Management & Communication: Keep knowledge repositories current, lead local communication efforts, contribute to global initiatives, and promote a unified team culture.
* People Development & Talent Management: Cultivate a positive procurement culture, support organizational design, and manage talent across functions.
About you
* Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; an advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) in procurement, business, or finance is preferred.
* Language Proficiency: Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
* Strategic Leadership: Ability to manage across country levels, influence diverse stakeholders, and operate at all management levels.
* Procurement Expertise: Knowledge of best procurement practices; experience in a global or matrix organization preferred.
* Communication & Networking: Strong communication skills adaptable to different audiences; excellent stakeholder networking abilities.
* Analytical & Change Management: High-level analytical skills, proficiency with tools/systems, and experience leading change initiatives.
* Professional Attributes: International mindset, ability to work independently, challenge the status quo, uphold compliance and ethics, and willingness to travel up to 10%.
