Graduate Building Services Engineer
Varied UK based and international projects in the Caribbean.
This exciting Graduate Building Services opportunity offers projects spanning high-end residential (villas and condos), holiday resorts, commercial, retail, and healthcare projects. You will join a market-leading consultancy that specializes in high-end sustainable and innovative builds in coastal areas of the UK and overseas.
As a Graduate Building Services Engineer, you will join an experienced team and be trained in mechanical and electrical design for building services. You will complete training courses, learning through design and site visits across the UK and Caribbean to review construction development and liaise with architects, contractors and clients.
Responsibilities
* Detailed HVAC and mechanical designs using AutoCAD and Revit for bespoke builds, holiday resorts, condos, high‑end residential, aviation and healthcare facilities across the UK and Caribbean.
* Electrical cabling, lighting, fire protection and emergency lighting design using DIAlux and Relux.
* Complete 2D and 3D models, perform heat load calculations, duct sizing, pipe sizing, and equipment selection using relevant software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, HAP, IES, Open Buildings or Elite).
* Prepare mechanical drawings, schematics, simulations, vertical transportation and technical specifications in accordance with building codes, sustainability goals and project requirements.
* Design to BIM level 2 in accordance with British Standards PAS 1192-5.
* Collaborate with architects, plumbing and structural engineers to ensure coordinated MEP layouts and avoid design clashes.
* Attend internal and client meetings to review design issues/queries and align project objectives in the UK and Caribbean, with support from experienced team members.
* Assist with site visits to monitor installation quality, verify compliance with original designs and highlight issues during construction in the UK and Caribbean when needed.
Qualifications
* BS or MSc in Building Services Engineering.
* Strong interest in mechanical and electrical design.
* Confident individual comfortable liaising with design teams, contractors and clients.
* Willingness and ability to travel internationally on occasion.
* Valid UK driving licence and passport for international travel.
