Description Family Help Support Workers - Ref: CH01526 G7: £35,412 - £38,220 per annum. Our transformed Family Help Service provides help at the earliest opportunity through a whole family approach based on collaboration with families and with partners from schools, health, children’s services and the community. We have vacancies for 2 Family Help Support Workers within our workforce to further enhance our sense of purpose and our growing expertise. One will be based within the East Locality and the second will be based with the 0 – 5 Young and Thriving Team These are exciting opportunities of progression for dynamic and experienced ‘family-centred’ practitioners who hold relevant academic or professional qualification at level 3 or higher to play a significant role within the delivery of our Family Help Service. We are looking for: Enthusiastic candidates who have significant experience and working knowledge of an early intervention setting and statutory work with children and families. Reflective practitioners who have a track record of working holistically with children, young people and families within a whole family model. Highly skilled practitioner who will demonstrate your extensive capability in engagement, undertaking comprehensive whole family assessments which create clear goals, and support your use of evidenced informed practice. We especially invite applications from workers with experience of working with children with additional needs and their families. someone who can demonstrate their skill set to act as a ‘lead professional’ and the importance of working purposefully and collaboratively with all family members and other agencies to achieve best outcomes for children. An awareness of SEND, education issues and understanding of how to work with schools and families to drive engagement of children and families in educational attendance and ambition. Walsall Council’s Children’s Services are the only Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ local authority in the Black Country. During a visit in May 2025, Inspectors described Walsall Council as a place where children were at the heart of. The council’s journey of continuous improvement started in 2017 and has since transformed into a service with a clear vision, clear priorities and a clear plan, all informed by the views of our staff and children. Staff are at the core of delivering great outcomes for children and young people in Walsall, which is underpinned by our Walsall Right 4 Children vision. The latest Ofsted inspection demonstrated that staff in children’s services are proud to work for Walsall Council and feel supported to do great work. We will ensure continuous development and improvement of robust recruitment processes and procedures that promote a culture of safeguarding amongst our workforce. Completion of an enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check is a requirement for working with children, young people and vulnerable adults.
