Risk Control Surveyor
South East – Remote

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Risk Control Surveyor to join a well-established insurer supporting commercial underwriting operations across the South East region. This role will focus on delivering high-quality risk surveys, supporting profitable growth strategies, and working closely with underwriting teams, brokers and clients to provide effective risk management solutions.
The successful individual will undertake surveys across a varied portfolio including manufacturing, distribution, leisure and service industries, producing detailed reports and practical risk improvement recommendations. You will also play a key role in supporting technical standards across the wider survey function, assisting with mentoring, training and continuous improvement initiatives where required.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct commercial risk surveys in line with technical and service standards
2. Produce detailed risk reports and recommendations
3. Support underwriting teams through technical risk assessment and guidance
4. Assist with survey audits, technical coaching and development activities
5. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of risk management, regulatory and technical developments
6. Build strong working relationships with brokers, clients and internal stakeholders
7. Contribute towards enhancing risk management services and market reputation
Requirements:
8. Strong commercial risk surveying experience across a broad range of SME and Mid-market sectors
9. Excellent understanding of fire, liability, business interruption, security and general property risks
10. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
11. Experience delivering presentations, coaching or technical training would be advantageous
12. Good organisational and time management ability
13. Full UK driving licence
Qualifications such as ACII, NEBOSH or CMIRM would be highly beneficial, although equivalent experience will also be considered.
