Early Years Teaching Assistant
Location: Tameside SK14
Job Type: Full-time, 8.30am-3.30pm (until October half term)
Salary: £13.75- £14.50 per hour
Start date: Monday 8th September 2025

We are seeking a warm, caring, and enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant to join our Early Years team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive school in the SK14 area, striving to develop respectful children who make a difference within the wider school community.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide support to the class teacher throughout the school day, monitor and record pupil’s progress and provide feedback to the teacher.
Work with children on a small group and 1:1 basis during Continuous Provision and teaching of Maths and Phonics.
Upholding the school ethos and implementing relevant policies including behaviour.
Support with developing reading fluency through delivering 1-1 interventions and reading sessions with children of a range of abilities and needs.
We’re Looking for Someone Who:
Has experience working with children (EYFS setting is desirable but not essential).
Holds a relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistant Certificate). The school have stated this is desirable but not essential.
Has a good understanding of the EYFS curriculum and child development.
Is proactive, patient, and nurturing with excellent communication skills.
Works effectively as part of a team and builds positive relationships with children and staff.
A valid DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
