Quanex UK & Ireland Hardware & Custom Solutions is seeking an energetic and engaging Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to oversee EHS programs at our Newton Aycliffe site.
How The Role Will Make An Impact
The EHS Manager will promote safety as a core value, partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and drive continuous EHS improvements that engage staff, promote a positive safety culture, and reduce injuries.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities
* Provide the necessary support, advice and management to deliver exceptional EHS standards.
* Establish annual safety objectives aligned with business strategy to drive key safety metrics and KPIs, and report these metrics monthly.
* Serve as the technical resource for incident investigation and root‑cause analysis; lead investigations and work with plant leadership to implement action plans.
* Develop and update EHS policies and procedures while supporting cross‑functional teams with policy implementation.
* Proactively identify EHS hazards and risks and develop plans to eliminate, minimise or control those risks.
Key Skills & Qualifications
* Qualified with EHS qualifications such as NEBOSH Diploma or IEMA Diploma.
* Proven experience in a similar Health & Safety, Environmental or combined role.
* Manufacturing or chemical industry experience is desirable.
* Passion, energy and an engaging communication style in EHS matters.
* Experience with ISO management systems and regulatory compliance audits.
* Experience in environmental compliance.
