City of London | 2 Days in Office | Permanent The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Loans Professional who has deep expertise in LMA style documentation, LoanIQ and strong attention to detail capabilities.This is a key role focused on operational validation and quality control across a commercial lending portfolio, ensuring loan documentation, structures and processes meet internal standards and are accurately booked in lending systems. What You'll Be Doing You will be responsible for retrospective quality assurance of loan execution and administration activities, working closely with Execution Control and Loan Administration teams. Day-to-day responsibilities include: Sample checking work completed by Execution Control (new loan agreement creation in Loan IQ) and Loan Administration teams (ongoing loan servicing) Validating critical Loan IQ data fields impacting internal/external reporting, credit discrepancies and customer outcomes Reviewing Control Cards including Status, Document Lists, Ancillary Items and Guarantees Assessing exceptional handling to ensure appropriate approvals have been obtained Providing MI and feedback on quality performance with recommendations for intervention where required Identifying training needs to address performance gaps or support implementation of new processes Developing and maintaining QA frameworks, checklists and validation protocols Identifying best practice and standardisation opportunities across head office and local procedures Guiding, mentoring and educating team members across the lending function Supporting annual external audit requirements including walkthroughs, sampling evidence and timely query responses Daily interaction with Section Managers to establish and maintain optimal QA approaches What We're Looking For Minimum 5 years commercial banking experience with in-depth knowledge of lending products Strong understanding of syndicated loan documentation and loan agency operations Hands-on experience with Loan IQ and loan execution processes Risk-based approach to quality assurance and control Proven ability to identify root cause issues and recommend process improvements Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities Excellent communication skills with ability to provide constructive feedback Collaborative approach with capability to mentor and develop team members Why Apply This role offers genuine influence over quality standards and operational excellence within a commercial lending environment, with scope to drive meaningful process improvements and support team development across the lending function.
