THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking talented, committed individuals to join our non-executive Trust Board. As a Trustee you will:
1. Help establish policies and objectives.
2. Monitor performance and hold the Executive Leadership Team to account.
3. Share your skills and passion for education.
4. Promote excellence and collaboration across our schools.
5. Visit schools and participate in key events.
We particularly welcome applications from individuals who reflect the diversity of our communities, including those from minority backgrounds, people with disabilities, and younger candidates.
TIME COMMITMENT
Trustees will probably need to contribute around six hours a month. This allows for an average of one meeting a month with time for reading and preparation.
6. Trust Board meetings - held online six times each academic year.
7. Membership of a Trust sub-committee - Finance, Audit and Risk Committee meet three times a year, starting at 5:30pm on Wednesday evenings. Standards and Curriculum Committee meet six times a year, starting at 5:30pm on Thursday evenings.
8. Regular safeguarding training.
9. Governance Conference held annually.
10. At least one Trustee review each year. This review takes place during the day and you will meet leaders, teachers and students to triangulate information.
11. Participation in the Resolutions Team - an ad hoc panel of trustees, governors and associates who may be asked to take part in complaints or exclusions panels across the Trust.
12. Meetings are planned more than a year in advance.
