North Berwick High School is a secondary school in the beautiful coastal town of North Berwick, which received an excellent HMIE inspection report in June 2020. The current school roll is 1041. Strong links have been developed with the local community and a broad range of extra curricular activities are on offer. The Business and Computing faculty currently comprises a Principal Teacher, two teachers of Business Education, two teachers of Computing and one teacher of Business Education, Enterprise and Digital Literacy. Within the Broad General Education phase, generic courses in Business and Computing are taught to S1 and S2s, with Business Management, Administration and Computing to S3s. In the senior phase, Administration and Business Management are offered to Higher level, Computing Science to Advanced Higher level, Economics at Higher level and Computer Games Development and Retail at National 5 level. The faculty also oversees whole school digital learning and innovation to enhance learning and teaching.
It is a growing faculty, with high attainment and a determination to provide appropriate pathways for all learners.
Job Details
Subject to the policies of the school and East Lothian Council, the duties of a Principal Teacher, as a member of the school’s management team, is to perform such tasks as the Head Teacher/Depute Head Teacher will direct having reasonable regard to the overall workload of a classroom teacher.
