The successful candidate will play a key role within the Procurement Department. This position involves the procurement of materials essential for the successful execution of contracts, as well as handling associated administrative responsibilities. Other key duties include: Assess material requirements using the MRP system and coordinate cost-effective procurement of quality materials Evaluate supplier quotations based on price, quality, and delivery timelines Ensure purchases align with project budgets and identify opportunities for cost savings Address and resolve issues related to quality, incorrect quantities, or defective materials Issue purchase orders in line with project timelines and material demand Manage invoice queries, credit card statements, and supplier account applications Conduct supplier evaluations and on-site audits, producing detailed reports The Ideal Person will have: A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a purchasing role within the construction industry Strong knowledge of construction-related materials Proven ability to work independently and take initiative Effective negotiation and supplier management skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel I t would be beneficial if the candidate had an understanding of AutoCAD drawings particularly for interpreting technical specifications related to material requirements.
