The Role
A well-established engineering and manufacturing business is looking to recruit an experienced Calibration Technician / Calibration Engineer to support its quality and engineering operations.
This is a hands‑on, lab-based role focused on managing calibration activities, maintaining procedures and supporting wider engineering and quality teams to ensure equipment and processes meet internal and customer standards.
This opportunity would suit a calibration or metrology professional with a strong electrical or mechanical background who enjoys ownership, accuracy and working to high standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and maintain calibration records using CMMS / calibration software
* Create, update and implement calibration procedures for a wide range of equipment
* Carry out calibration activities to ensure compliance with internal and external standards
* Maintain the calibration laboratory to a high professional standard
* Respond efficiently to calibration requests from production and engineering teams
* Support quality investigations and assist with calibration-related non-conformances
* Provide technical support to the wider engineering and manufacturing teams
* Interpret and work from engineering drawings and technical documentation
Requirements
Essential
* Electrical or Mechanical qualification (Apprenticeship, NVQ, HNC or equivalent)
* Proven experience as a Calibration Technician, Calibration Engineer or Metrology Technician
* Experience creating and implementing calibration procedures
* Confident using CMMS / asset management systems
* Able to read and understand engineering drawings
* Strong communication skills and a team-focused mindset
Desirable
* Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment
* Exposure to quality systems or audits
* Background in precision, test or instrumentation calibration
