Ref: (phone number removed) Role: Vacuum Systems Engineer – PVD / Thin Film Deposition Location: High Wycombe Working hours: Full-time | Permanent | Monday to Friday Salary: £40,000 – £60,000 per annum (depending on experience) Parkside Recruitment are seeking a Vacuum Systems Development Engineer to play a key role in the design, build, and refinement of precision bench-top PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) systems. This position offers a great opportunity to work closely with cutting-edge hardware used in research institutions and high-tech industries worldwide. What You’ll Be Doing: Designing and developing HV (high vacuum) and UHV (ultra-high vacuum) deposition systems Assembling, testing, and optimising hardware for performance and reliability Supporting customer system installations, occasionally on-site in the UK and internationally Collaborating with mechanical, electrical, and control systems engineers to implement improvements and custom configurations Troubleshooting and refining prototypes to enhance usability and system functionality Providing technical documentation and contributing to design iterations based on real-world performance What We're Looking For: Experience with vacuum technologies, PVD systems, or similar instrumentation Background in mechanical engineering, electronics, physics, or related technical field Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to prototyping and assembly Familiarity with CAD, control systems (e.g. LabVIEW or PLC), or electronics is an advantage Ability to work on-site as part of a small, agile engineering team Clear communication skills and a practical mindset Location: Oxfordshire (on-site, with some flexibility) Type: Full-time Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Start Date: ASAP How to Apply: How to Apply: Please send your CV to (url removed)
