Your Role
We are seeking a Senior MedTech Consultant who blends deep understanding of the MedTech and digital health sectors with strong product strategy, commercialization, and go-to-market execution skills. This is an ideal role for someone with a product management/marketing background in medical device and digital health sectors with 8-10 years experience who has transitioned into consulting, or a consultant with strong commercial instincts and hands-on experience turning strategy into real-world results.
You will be part of a team working on high-impact projects that span from market exploration and solution design to commercialization and in-market launch strategy. You’ll help our clients build and implement successful connected health products, while shaping S3’s strategic offering in MedTech commercialization and consultancy.
The ideal candidate will bring consulting or internal strategy experience in the medical device and digital health sectors, with expertise in business model design, healthcare system dynamics, product management, and commercialization.
This role is a hybrid role and the candidate can be based in the East Coast or Central time zone.
Your Responsibilities
Commercial Strategy and Product Development
* Develop go-to-market strategies, commercialization plans, and investment / business cases for connected medical technologies and digital health services.
* Translate user, market, and stakeholder insights into value propositions and product-market fit strategies.
* Drive the development of innovative solution concepts for products, apps, and services in the MedTech and digital health space
Client Engagement and Consulting Leadership
* Serve as a key client contact on MedTech engagements, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and commercial value.
* Lead multi-disciplinary teams in delivering clear, compelling, and actionable strategic recommendations.
* Facilitate co-creation workshops with client teams, bringing together clinical, product, commercial, and regulatory perspectives
Project and Team Management
* Own delivery of complex consultancy projects across strategy, solution design, and implementation planning.
Research and Insights
* Drive primary and secondary research efforts, including market sizing, competitor benchmarking, stakeholder interviews, and trend analysis.
* Guide synthesis of findings into clear, insight-driven strategies that support business growth for our clients.
Commercial Growth and Value Creation
* Identify account expansion opportunities and support proposal development and client growth planning.
* Align delivery with project value and pricing strategy; help shape offerings that scale with client needs.
* Stay abreast of market trends and developments in digital healthcare and life sciences, incorporating insights into project work and team knowledge base
Experience and Qualifications
* 8-10 years of experience in Medical Devices or MedTech, Digital Health, or Life Sciences, ideally with time spent in:
-Commercial Strategy or Marketing
-Product or Business Development
-Solution Design
* Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in business, public health, or other relevant field preferred
* Demonstrated success in launching or scaling digital or connected health products, services, or platforms
* Demonstrated expertise in business model design and healthcare system dynamics
* Proven ability to create business cases, pricing models, and market access strategies
* Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills; able to build trusted relationships across technical and commercial functions
* Highly proficient in building compelling, insight-driven presentations and communicating effectively with stakeholders at all levels, from technical teams to senior executives, translating complex ideas into clear, actionable strategies.
* Strong workshop facilitation and executive communication capabilities
* Experience leading or supporting strategic engagements across product, clinical, regulatory, and marketing domains
* Excellent professional communication skills, including written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation expertise
Experience in the following areas is advantageous
* Familiarity with reimbursement models and healthcare provider systems in the US or EU
* Experience with SaMD or regulated health technology products
* Knowledge of design thinking and human-centered design processes
* Knowledge of US and/or European healthcare systems
