Equifind has partnered with a renowned venture capital group to recruit a newly qualified accountant into a Management Accountant position.
It’s an interesting time to be joining the business, as the finance team is currently going through a period of technological evolution. With greater use of AI and automation, many of the more routine finance tasks are expected to become increasingly streamlined, allowing this individual to focus more heavily on commercial analysis, business partnering, and broader value-add work.
The Management Accountant will act as a key link between the finance function and wider business units across the firm. As such, the role requires a strong blend of technical accounting knowledge, commercial awareness, and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will provide financial analysis, insight, and support to senior management and department heads across the business.
Key Duties Include
* Partner with department heads and project teams to assess the financial viability and profitability of new initiatives, projects and investments.
* Build financial models and run scenario analysis to show the impact of strategic decisions on overall performance.
* Oversee the monthly reporting cycle (P&L, balance sheet and cash flow), ensuring timely delivery of draft financials and highlighting key points for discussion.
* Take ownership of business line reporting and analysis, making sure transactions are recorded in line with current reporting requirements.
* Maintain accurate balance sheet accounts and monthly reconciliations, applying sound judgement on more technical items.
* Support the year-end audit and tax process.
Experience & Qualifications
* Qualified accountant.
* A minimum of 3 years experience within a similar role.
* Advanced Excel skills.
* Sound understanding of IFRS reporting standards.
* Great communication skills and the ability to speak finance to non-finance personnel.
* Strong excel skills and advanced modelling.
* Exceptional commercial awareness.
Compensation
* Base salary of £60-70,000.
* Annual bonus, commensurate with company and individual performance.
