Role: Commercial Administrator
Location: Barnsley
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday
Contract: 12-month FTC (MAT leave cover) - Immediate start date available
Overview
We are working with a leading facilities management company to recruit a Commercial Administrator to join their Complex Facilities Team on a full-time, fixed-term basis for 12 months.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a solid administrative background who has experience in supporting commercial and financial processes. The ideal candidate will be confident working with procurement documentation, payments, contract support and general office administration. You will play a vital role in ensuring that commercial operations run smoothly and efficiently across the Schools Contract.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide administrative support to the Commercial and Contract Management team
* Assist with procurement processes, including issuing purchase orders and tracking supplier documentation
* Support with financial tasks such as invoice processing, payment tracking, and maintaining accurate records
* Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure compliance and timely submissions
* Maintain contract documentation and update internal systems as required
* Help prepare commercial reports, cost summaries, and other relevant data for internal use
* Coordinate the collation of data and support the preparation of forecasts and reconciliations
* Schedule meetings, take minutes, and follow up on actions with relevant stakeholders
* Ensure all files and records are kept in line with company policies and audit requirements
What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience in administration, ideally within a commercial, construction, or FM environment
* Understanding of basic procurement and finance processes (e.g. PO management, invoice processing)
* Excellent attention to detail and a structured approach to tasks
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook
* Comfortable working independently and as part of a wider team
* A proactive approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities
* Experience handling contract or financial documents is desirable
