Position
Domestic Supervisor based at Ailsa Hospital. This post is offered on a permanent basis.
Hours
As and When Required hours per week.
From 1 April 2026, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change staff in Scotland will be reduced. Full-time hours will reduce from 37 to 36 hours (pro rata for part-time staff) without loss of earnings.
What You Will Do
The successful applicant will be responsible for the allocation of work, daily supervision, training, and welfare of staff within the area. Excellent communication (both written and verbal), interpersonal and basic computing skills are essential, as is the ability to work individually and as part of a team. Previous supervisory experience and knowledge of NHS standards and procedures would be advantageous. Flexibility on shift is essential and you will be prepared to work additional hours to provide cover during periods of leave.
Knowledge, Training And/Or Experience Required
To provide a wide and varied range of Domestic Services which support Clinical Services throughout Ayrshire and Arran in line with NHS Scotland National Cleaning Services Specification to fulfill Healthcare Environment Inspectorate Standards and meet Facilities Monitoring Tool Targets. Experience with industrial cleaning equipment or working within a healthcare setting would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be given. The ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team and good communication skills are essential.
