Overview
We are recruiting for a Commis Chef to join our team at one of our conference venues in Leamington Spa, CV32 6R. This is a permanent postion working 40 hours a week, 5 over 7, on a rota basis. There will be an occasional requirement for overtime which will be given back as time off in lieu. The venue is easily commutable from Warwick, Leamington Spa, Coventry, and the surrounding areas, including Solihull, Nuneaton, and Stratford-upon-Avon.

We are looking for a hardworking Commis Chef to join our vibrant kitchen team at this busy and exciting site. Our chefs enjoy full autonomy to create fresh, cooked-from-scratch menus every day using seasonal ingredients. You’ll gain hands-on experience across a variety of services, including breakfast buffets for around 120 guests, lunch buffets with salad bars, main courses, and desserts for up to 300 covers, private dining events, and seasonal outdoor catering serving street-style foods such as BBQ, smoking, pizza, and hog roasts. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven Commis Chef to develop their skills and grow within a dynamic, supportive team.
Responsibilities
* Assist in creating and developing dishes and weekly menus
* Support in delivering breakfast, lunch, private dining events, and seasonal outdoor catering
* Participate in stock management and reducing food waste
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all areas
* Provide excellent customer service and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills
* Work on their own initiative and as part of a team of 12
* Work in a high-pressure environment while maintaining quality and consistency
* Contribute to the preparation and service across multiple venues as required
Skills and Experience
* Is positive, reliable, and honest
* Is passionate about great food and excellent service
* Is a strong team player with good communication skills
* Is keen to learn, develop, and grow within the team
* Has basic culinary skills and general knowledge of food hygiene (NVQ Level 2 or equivalent desirable)
* Understands the importance of stock management and reducing food waste
* Is highly organised and comfortable working in a high-pressure environment
* Is eligible to work in the UK
* Has a can-do attitude and enjoys participating fully as part of the team
