Marshfields is a Short Break Residential Unit based in West Lynn, providing short breaks for children with disabilities and/or complex health needs aged 5 to 17 years.
We currently have part-time positions for Childrens Residential Practitioner Level 2 (Shift Leader) at 18.5 hours a week.
Marshfields has a stable and experienced team. Our aim is to provide a fun, safe, and positive environment while offering parents and carers a break from their caring role.
You will be suitably skilled/qualified and/or experienced, with knowledge of working with children with diverse needs. Many of the young people who access Marshfields have complex health needs, including epilepsy and complex medication regimes, and may require repositioning and physical intervention.
As a shift leader, you will lead the team on shift, contribute to children's care plans, attend meetings, and ensure the views and wishes of the children are considered. This is a hands-on role within the home, involving physical intervention, active play, creative activities, and manual handling. The role requires shift work, including weekends, bank holidays, occasional night waking shifts, and sleep-in shifts with enhancements paid.
