Main duties of the job The postholder will be delivering care in the Department of Sexual Health, managing a range of genitourinary medicine and sexual and reproductive healthcare presentations alongside a dynamic and enthusiastic team. The post offers development opportunities for the successful postholder in specialist sexual health skills and knowledge. The successful postholder may also have the opportunity to work in the HIV outpatient clinic depending on their experience and the requirements of the service. Person Specification Qualifications Essential • MBBS or recognised equivalent • Eligble for full GMC registration with a license to practice Desirable • DFSRH • LOC SDI and/or IUD • DipGUM • Academic excellence (prizes, merits, distinctions etc) Other Requirements • Satisfactory immigration/right to work status • Satisfactory Occupational Health clearance • Satisfactory Disclosure (DBS) check of equivalent Experience Essential • Four years full-time postgraduate experience (or part time equivalent), at least two of which will be in a specialty with relevant experience and skills for sexual health practice Desirable • Experience working in a sexual health clinic • Experience in managing patients living with HIV • Experience of managing individuals reporting sexual assault • Experience in managing young people and/or underserved populations Skills Essential • Evidence of effective team and multidisciplinary working • Effective and demonstrable communication skills in written and spoken English adequate to enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues • Up to date with current medical practices • Ability to take appropriate clinical decisions when necessary • Understanding of clinical risk management and clinical governance • Values aligned to those of the Health Board Desirable • Audit • Teaching • Computing skills • Research interests relevant to the specialty Personal Qualities • Motivated and efficient • Able to relate to patients, staff and medical colleagues • Flexible, caring and hard working • Evidence of ability to work both in a team and alone
