Job Title: Domestic Abuse Refuge Practitioner (Part-Time)

A well-established organisation is seeking a committed and compassionate Domestic Abuse Refuge Practitioner to join its specialist team in Coventry. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting individuals affected by domestic violence and abuse, helping them rebuild their lives in safety and dignity.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver high-quality, person-centred support to women and children experiencing domestic abuse.
2. Complete risk assessments and develop safety plans tailored to individual needs.
3. Support clients in accessing legal, housing, health, and other essential services.
4. Maintain accurate and confidential case records.
5. Work in partnership with external agencies to ensure coordinated support.
6. Contribute to training and awareness initiatives within the community.
7. Participate in team meetings and service development activities.
Essential Skills and Experience:
8. I am looking for candidates that can speak a BME language, eastern European or African Caribbean languages
9. Relevant qualification in social work, counselling, or a related discipline
10. Experience supporting vulnerable individuals, particularly in domestic abuse settings.
11. Strong understanding of the impact of domestic violence on individuals and families
12. Excellent communication and people skills
13. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
14. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
15. Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and relevant legislation
16. Empathetic, resilient, and non-judgmental approach
