We’re looking for a proactive and commercially astute Business Development Manager to join our Independent Sales Division at UK Greetings.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a well-established, respected brand that retailers know and love - giving you a strong platform to open doors, create opportunities and drive lasting business growth.

The role

As Business Development Manager, you’ll be responsible for driving new business across the UK’s independent retail and garden centre market - combining national reach with hands-on, relationship-led selling.

You’ll lead a small regional team, develop commercial opportunities and represent a brand that’s synonymous with quality, creativity and reliability.

What you’ll do

3. Identify and win new business with independent retailers, garden centres and multi-site groups.
4. Present high-impact proposals to retail buyers and decision-makers.
5. Create and deliver sales strategies that drive growth and market share.
6. Lead and develop two Sales Executives, guiding them to achieve ambitious regional targets.
7. Work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding and account success.
8. Provide feedback and insight to shape future commercial strategy.

What you’ll bring

9. A proven track record in new business sales or business development.
10. Strong retail sales experience, ideally buyer-facing.
11. Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
12. Confidence presenting to senior stakeholders and influencing decisions.
13. Experience coaching or leading others within a sales environment.
14. A consistent career history showing commitment and long-term growth.
15. A proactive, goal-driven approach and the flexibility to travel nationally.
