Position: Indirect Tax Manager
Location: Cambridge/London, Hybrid (3 days at the office)
The Job
The Indirect Tax Manager is a key role within the in-house tax team, supporting international operations of the global Group. Reporting to the EMEA Tax Director, based in the UK, the role will have an international focus and a varied mix of compliance and advisory.
This position requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of Indirect Tax and regulations and experience in a multinational company environment, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and within the Global Tax Function.

Responsibilities
1. Overseeing the in-house and outsourced global indirect tax compliance to ensure indirect tax returns are timely and complete, and any issues are visible and escalated.
2. Defining, implementing, and monitoring standards and policies to ensure adherence to global procedures, regional business requirements and statutory governmental regulations - to minimise liability and risk as well as identifying tax savings and efficiencies.
3. Lead research, interpretation of changes in tax laws and regulations and assess the impact on the company's tax position.
4. A strong knowledge on implementing ERP changes with a clear focus on process automation to increase efficiency and accuracy.
5. Performing compliance risk and opportunity assessments and working with the relevant teams to ensure strong internal controls and governance processes are in place and up to date.
6. Supporting the wider international tax team with high profile and varied tax related projects including due diligence, restructuring and legal entity rationalisation.
7. Monitoring compliance with the group’s transfer pricing policy and business models and responding to ad hoc queries.
8. Managing enquiries and tax audits – liaising with both overseas tax authorities and statutory auditors.
9. Business partnering – being commercially aware and providing real-time tax support to the business for contract tenders and business models.
10. Maintaining and communicating knowledge of past, present and potential tax legislation, regulations, rulings, procedures, and court decisions.
11. Assisting Tax, Finance and IT teams with technical development and support whilst identifying improvements for processes and systems, making the best use of technology.
Skills & Qualifications
12. Qualified Chartered Accountant or Chartered Tax Advisor
13. Experience in mid/large-tier practice or in-house tax function
14. Strong indirect tax knowledge and previous work experience within the Indirect tax arena
15. Mixed experience of compliance and advisory
16. Strong Excel skills

21. Understanding of business models, and TP
22. Ability to anticipate, detect and communicate risk and assist with proactive problem-solving
23. Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
24. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively
25. Experience with tax software and ERP systems
26. High level of integrity and professionalism

Hybrid working
