📋 Salary: £40,000 -£80,000 DOE
We are seeking highly skilled Fire Design Engineers to join our client’s growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and implementation of fire safety systems, ensuring compliance with fire protection standards. This role involves working on projects from concept design ➡ implementation ➡ compliance checks.
✅ Key Responsibilities:
* 🔥 Fire Safety Design: Design and develop fire protection systems (fire alarms, sprinklers, suppression systems) for commercial, industrial, and residential buildings.
* 📜 Regulatory Compliance: Ensure designs meet NFPA, BS, EN standards.
* ⚠️ Risk Assessment: Conduct fire risk assessments and hazard analyses.
* 🤝 Collaboration: Work with architects, structural & mechanical engineers to integrate fire safety systems.
* 📐 Technical Documentation: Produce detailed drawings, calculations, and reports.
* 🛡 Fire Strategy Plans: Develop fire strategy and emergency evacuation plans.
* 📆 Project Management: Support project teams to deliver on time and budget.
* 🔍 Testing & Commissioning: Oversee testing and maintenance of fire safety systems.
* 🎓 Training & Support: Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and contractors.
* 📈 Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on best practices and new technologies.
🎯 Key Skills & Qualifications:
* 🎓 Degree: Fire Engineering, Civil, Mechanical, or related field.
* ✅ Certifications: FS Eng, FIRE preferred.
* 🛠 Experience: 3+ years in fire protection engineering/design.
* 📚 Knowledge: NFPA, BS, EN standards.
* 💻 Software: AutoCAD, Revit, FDS, etc.
* 🧠 Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities.
* 📅 Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects.
* 🗣 Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills.
* 🔍 Attention to Detail: Accuracy in documentation and design.
* 👥 Team Player: Collaborative mindset.
* ⚠️ Health & Safety Awareness: Strong understanding of protocols.
✨ Desirable Skills:
* 🎓 Master’s degree in Fire Engineering.
* 🔬 Experience with CFD modeling and advanced fire simulation tools.
* 🏗 Knowledge of BIM for fire safety design.
* 🏅 Membership in professional organizations (e.g., SFPE).
