NURSE GRADUATES – LEARNING DISABILITIES (STUDENT NURSES DUE TO QUALIFY IN 2026)
BAND 5 / PERMANENT / FULL & PART TIME (SEE ADVERT) ACROSS A VARIETY OF CLINICAL SETTINGS (SEE BELOW)
We invite applications to the Learning Disability in-patient services within NHS Forth Valley. We warmly encourage applications from learning disability nurse graduates.
Applicants should be student nurses due to qualify in 2026, able to enhance/develop clinical skills, work within an in-patient setting, and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Key responsibilities and expectations include:
* Provide high quality, patient-focused care within a learning disability in-patient setting.
* Use de-escalation techniques and support staff in applying Therapeutic Management of Aggression and Violence techniques (training provided).
* Apply knowledge of the Mental Health Act (Scotland).
* Communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team members.
Essential qualifications:
* Student nurse expected to qualify in 2026.
* Good interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
* Commitment to patient-focused care and flexible service delivery.
* Experience requirement: knowledge of the Mental Health Act (Scotland) and de-escalation techniques.
