Job overview
We are seeking an engaging, enthusiastic and experienced individual to provide operational leadership to the Imaging Service administrative function.
Working as a key member of the Department’s management team, working towards the achievement of the department’s key objectives. The individual will provide leadership and management skills to the non-clinical workforce and be accountable for the administrative management of the Imaging office functions. The post holder will also provide administrative and project management support to the wider Imaging Leadership Team.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be a key member of the Imaging Management Team and will provide essential managerial support and leadership in order to:
* Provide effective day-to-day senior operational management of the bookings/ reception and PA/ Secretarial teams within the imaging service.
* Develop and contribute to cross site service plans and projects, including change initiatives as required to ensure the service is delivered effectively.
* Manage the business activities of the administrative functions in accordance with Trust policies and within allocated resources.
* To continuously develop the most effective, efficient and cost-effective structure for the future delivery of those services with the involvement of clinicians, professionals and commissioners.
* To meet imaging performance targets in alignment with DM01 and the Cancer PTL.
* To take a proactive role in continuous improvement of equitable cross site services.
* To be a delegated budget holder and authorised signatory for specialties pay and non-pay budgets, including accountability for revenue budgets and procurement of capital equipment (with Trust delegated limits).

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
• Line management and routine operational management of Imaging Office Team including medical secretaries
• Development of business plans and developing strategy for area of activity, ensuring implementation and that performance targets, strategic objectives are met; contributes to corporate policies and aligns with overarching directorate/ divisional strategy.
• To perform a secretariat role to the Imaging Improvement Programme
• Establish an effective and responsive system of administration support to the Imaging management team. This will be achieved by identifying key areas of need, the optimum use of centralised services and the engagement of modern office techniques and practices.
• Responsible for staff and budgetary management.
• Utilise excellent communication skills and demonstrate complete discretion across internal and external groups (encompassing a broad range of staff grades and groups) when dealing with key confidential and contentious information.

Experience and Qualifications
* Degree or equivalent experience in relevant areas
* Experience of Management within a department of staff including recruitment, performance and work allocation
* Significant experience of working in NHS administrative or management roles
* Significant experience in the implementation of new systems and processes
* Experience of managing complex projects within a Health Care
* Environment including change management and service improvement.
* Experience of budget management for large team
* Responsible for maintaining one or more information systems,
* Knowledge of Data Protection/Caldicott
* Knowledge of current NHS strategies and policies
Skills
* Evidence of having undertaken own development to improve understanding of equalities issues
* Ability to provide and receive highly complex, sensitive or contentious Information and present to large groups
