Overview
We are supporting a well‑established, GMP‑regulated organisation in Glasgow with a search for an experienced Microbiology Manager. This is a key leadership appointment within a growing site that is investing in its people, facilities, and long‑term capabilities. The role offers the opportunity to lead a specialist laboratory team, influence site‑wide quality standards, and play an active role in the next phase of organisational growth.
Responsibilities
* Lead and develop the Microbiology team, fostering high standards of performance, engagement, and continuous improvement
* Ensure the laboratory operates in line with GMP and internal quality standards
* Provide oversight of laboratory activities, planning workloads and priorities effectively
* Support audits, inspections, and client interactions as the Microbiology subject‑matter lead
* Collaborate closely with Quality, Production, and other site functions
* Promote a strong culture of compliance, safety, and scientific integrity
Qualifications
* Proven experience working within a GMP or highly regulated environment
* Demonstrated leadership or line management experience within a laboratory setting
* Strong communication skills and the ability to influence across teams
* A pragmatic, solutions‑focused approach to quality and compliance
About You
You will be an experienced Microbiology professional with leadership experience in a regulated manufacturing or laboratory environment. You'll enjoy developing people, improving processes, and being a visible technical leader within the organisation.
