Hire Resolve is assisting mining organisations in hiring experienced mining professionals across the United Kingdom. This is a multi-role opportunity spanning several functions within the sector, including site operations, technical services, mineral processing, maintenance and reliability, and health, safety and environment (HSE) leadership. These roles are suited to mid- to senior-level professionals and offer clear progression toward superintendent, manager, and senior site leadership positions. Key Responsibilities Lead or support safe, efficient delivery of mining and processing operations across site functions Strengthen compliance with UK HSE requirements and site safety systems, including risk assessments, safe systems of work, and incident prevention Improve operational performance through production planning, shift coordination, KPI tracking, and continuous improvement Support technical inputs to mine planning, drill and blast performance, ground control, and geotechnical risk management (as applicable) Optimise plant and process performance to improve throughput, recovery, and product quality (where applicable) Oversee maintenance and reliability strategies for mobile and fixed plant, including shutdown planning and asset performance improvement Manage contractors and service providers, ensuring safe working practices and delivery to scope, schedule, and budget Contribute to operational budgeting, cost control, CAPEX/OPEX planning, and reporting Develop teams through coaching, competency development, and performance management Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (operations, engineering, supply chain, and projects) to deliver site objectives Requirements Degree or equivalent qualification in Mining Engineering, Geology/Geological Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Metallurgy/Mineral Processing, or a related discipline (or demonstrable equivalent experience for certain operations/maintenance leadership roles) Typically 5–12 years of progressive experience within mining, minerals processing, quarrying/aggregates, or heavy industrial environments Strong working knowledge of UK safety standards and HSE expectations, including risk management, incident investigation, and permit-to-work principles Experience in one or more of the following: operations leadership, technical services, mine planning and scheduling, processing optimisation, maintenance/reliability, or HSE management systems Familiarity with common operational systems such as CMMS/EAM (e.g., SAP, Maximo), planning/scheduling tools, condition monitoring, and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint; Power BI advantageous) Strong communication skills, stakeholder management capability, and a practical, site-focused approach Willingness to work on-site and in field environments; flexibility for shift patterns or travel depending on the role Benefits Private Healthcare Plan Pension Plans Life Assurance Leave Package Training & Development
