About the Role:
As a PE Graduate Teaching Assistant/Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in supporting students and teachers in the classroom and on the sports field. You will have the opportunity to engage with students of all ages and abilities, helping them to develop their physical skills, confidence, and enthusiasm for sport and physical activity.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist classroom teachers with the delivery of PE lessons and extracurricular sports activities.
* Lead and supervise PE lessons, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
* Provide support and guidance to students during practical activities and games, promoting teamwork, fair play, and sportsmanship.
* Manage behavior effectively both inside and outside the classroom, using positive reinforcement strategies to encourage good conduct and engagement.
* Cover lessons in the absence of teachers, following pre-prepared lesson plans and maintaining classroom discipline and routine.
* Build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers, fostering a supportive and collaborative learning environment.
Requirements:
* A degree in Physical Education or a related field.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* A dynamic and engaging personality with the ability to motivate and inspire students.
* Previous experience working with children or young people in a sports or educational setting is desirable but not essential.
* Willingness to take on additional responsibilities and contribute to the wider school community.
